Today I am 7 months old. Count ’em, seven. SEVEN! I can’t believe it. I’m sitting up all by myself, and I’m trying to crawl, but I find myself only going backwards. I love to eat, eat and eat. My favorites are butternut squash (see above), carrots, zucchini (go figure) and sweet potatoes. Bug really likes it when I eat Bananas, because he gets leftovers. I also love to smile. And to laugh. Life is good.

My cousin Kellen is the real college football fan, but I can’t help but get excited about the new Stadium the Gophers are playing in this year.

I’m also excited about this awesome Gopher sweatshirt and hat I got from my friend Maddie. Don’t I look just like a Gopher? Ska-U-Mah!!

I know, I know, you’re asking yourself, “Who is Uncle Ben?” You’re thinking of Uncle Chris in Wisconsin, and Uncle Adam in Colorado, and maybe even Great Uncle Tim here in Minneapolis. But Uncle Ben? Let me explain. I was in Mommy’s arms yesterday while she was starting to make dinner and she picked up the box of Uncle Ben’s rice to read the directions. (She rarely uses the boxed stuff, she wanted me to tell you). So she picked up this bright orange box and it made a loud rattley sound and I laughed. And laughed and laughed and laughed. So Dad tried it again when he got home. And I laughed, and laughed and laughed. Oh, that Uncle Ben, he sure is a funny guy!

I know I’m not supposed to be on Nibbler’s Playmat, but sometimes when she takes a nap I sneak on it. It’s fun.

Mom was trying to get me to look at the camera. I was too busy watching TV. I think it was Top Chef. Or maybe Mad Men. Either way, I was absorbed…..

My friend Maddie and I went to the State Fair today with our Mom’s. I guess I was there last year but was the size of a jelly bean in my mom’s belly. This year was more fun.

Here I am in the Cattle Barn posing with a beautiful big cow. Maddie is a little bit older than me and she actually got to milk a cow. Well, a plastic cow, but that’s still pretty cool. We won’t tell you what happened on our way out of the barn, but we had to jump back really quick to avoid getting hit by something stinky!

We wandered around the rest of the fair and watched our Moms eat. Maddie went on a couple rides and I hung out with Mom in the Baby Bjorn. That fair is a big place and we all were pretty tired by the time we headed out. Can’t wait until next year when I can take my first bite of fair food!

Mom and Dad brought me to the Como Zoo this week. Now that I’m big enough to face out in the Baby Bjorn I got to see all kinda of cool stuff, like the Zebras, Giraffes, all kinds of Monkeys (Primates) and even Sparky the Seal! I had fun!

What a day! I am now 5 months old and I started eating solids! Just some rice cereal. I think I got more on my belly and hands than in my mouth, but it was fun!

I borrowed the Digital SLR camera from work this weekend and Bug was the perfect Model. It was hot and sticky and windy anyway so we didn’t get out much. Oh well, we had some cuddle time instead.
